Lilies of the Field
About this Design
This design is inspired by Matthew 6:25-34.
While creating these designs, it was really important to me for them to represent the plants of the Bible as accurately as possible. With the Bible being translated from multiple different languages, the context of these plants can sometimes get lost.
The lilies of the field, spoken in Matthew 6, were not likely the lilies that we so commonly think of today. More than likely, they represented a type of wildflower. Personally, this just makes this passage much richer and more beautiful. These particular lillies are based on the beautiful Scarlet Martagon Wildflowers, known for their abundance in the district of Galilee. According to the "Plants of the Bible" by John Button Balfour, the Scarlet Martagon would have come into season the same time of the year Christ was known to deliver this special message at the sermon on the mount.
No matter the flower, the message is clear. Trust in the Lord, he will provide for you.
All Bibles are painted upon order and ship within 3-6 weeks.

About the Hardcover Study Journaling Bible
The ESV Journaling Study Bible pairs the content of a robust study Bible with extra-large, 2-inch margins that are perfect for writing observations, prayers, and more as you study God’s Word. Featuring more than 12,000 study notes adapted from the ESV Study Bible, this journaling Bible also includes nearly 900 special facts, 120 Bible character profiles, 10 topical articles, a glossary of key terms, more than 80 maps and illustrations, and 80,000 cross-references. These and many other features make it the most comprehensive and content-rich journaling Bible available today. This size of this bible measures 7.375 in x 8.25 in, with a page count of 1,856.
About the Canvas Journaling Bible
The ESV Journaling Bible provides generous space for writing and reflection beside the Scriptures in lined, 2-inch margins on thick, cream-colored, opaque paper. It will not contain study notes like the Journaling Study Bible above. The cover will be a durable canvas instead of the hardcover of the Journal Study Bible. This bible is slightly smaller than the Journal Study Bible, measuring 6.25 in x 7.25 in with a page count of 1,088.
Bible Care
As a professional of multi-surface painting, I have taken extensive measures to ensure these Bibles are durable. Covers can be cleaned with gentle household cleaners as needed. My hope is that these Bibles can be loved and used in your home for many years to come. Still, please take precautions to care for your new hand-painted bible and understand as any “painted-surface” you can still inflict damage. Each bible comes with a cotton bag to use during storage, transportation, or any kind of general safe keeping.
