“Red Drum” was one of the paintings sold in my first collection, The Art of Compromise. My husband and I live in New Bern, NC, which sits on the Neuse River. The Neuse River/Pamlico Sound is considered to be one of the best Red Drum fisheries in the world. Every late summer and early fall these huge fish make their run inshore to spawn in the waters of Eastern NC.  Drum fishing is usually done with popping corks throughout the day and bottom rigs throughout the evening.  It is so fun to do it with a group of friends and the excitement from catching one of these enormous fish is awesome.
